Contemplating how to reenter Kaimaru without being noticed, Malukusaifi hesitated at the city’s entrance. He worried about being recognized, especially by Gammazi, the town’s chief, who was considered a god. Meanwhile, in Kaimaru, the witch Damatu was troubled by the events following the king’s attempt to dispose of Malukussaifi. Confused and in distress, she sought solace from her mother Akila, revealing her fear of imminent destruction and expressing a desire for Akila to save him.

Aljana Akisa returned in these days, finding Akila at home. Akila, aware of Malukussaifi’s presence outside the town, urged Damatu to approach him and invite him in, assuring her that the hat would conceal his identity. Despite initial reluctance, Damatu eventually opened the door for Malukussaifi, leading to a joyous reunion. They sat down together, shared a meal, and Malukussaifi recounted his experiences since being thrown into the well.

Malukussaifi revealed his intent to retrieve the Halwanu book, and Bokanya assured him that the hat would aid in this mission. They decided to wait for five days before venturing out on the day of worship. During the worship ceremony, masked by his hat, Malukussaifi successfully retrieved the book without being detected, leaving the king and the townspeople bewildered.

King Kamrunu, desperate to recover the book, sought the assistance of Akila’s priest. Akila promised to find the book, claiming she possessed wisdom and techniques to track it down. After the unsuccessful search, Akila informed the king that the book had eluded them. Bokanya Akila then encountered Malukussaifi, who expressed gratitude and mentioned his plan to return home with the book.

However, Akila had a condition – she wanted Malukussaifi to marry Damatu before leaving the town. Despite Malukussaifi’s refusal due to prior commitments, Damatu, overhearing the conversation, took matters into her own hands. In a bold move, she sneaked into Malukussaifi’s room, took his hat and the book, and declared she would only return them if he agreed to marry her.

Upon waking up and discovering the items missing, Malukussaifi faced Damatu’s demand. Despite the pressure, he held onto his resolve, trusting in God’s guidance. He refused to marry Damatu and left for the river, where the animal Hashisha awaited him.

Malukussaifi, pursued by the king’s men, successfully evaded them with the help of Hashisha. The story continued with their pursuit, building tension and leaving the fate of Malukussaifi hanging in the balance.
