This slogan holds deep meaning for us, and it's a pledge we've embraced wholeheartedly. I can assure you, once you step into my Ringim, you'll realize that my words are not mere exaggerations.

My name is Amina Abubakar Salihu, affectionately known as AFIYYA, a name I inherited from my grandmother. My grandfather, Alhaji Salihu, served as the minister of the King of Ringim Kunga. In our family, infertility has been a recurring challenge. My grandmother, Hajiya Amina, hails from Ganjin Gebi and is the only wife of Bai Kara. Her children include my father, Abubakar, Uncle Sa'idu, Mummy Maryam, and Uncle Ahmad, known as Masa Tijjani. The youngest among them is Uncle Salihu, fondly called Babawo, my personal savior.

Education reached our family during the time when the king's children were the first to attend school, setting an example for the community. Despite initial resistance from Hajiya, my father and Uncle Sa'idu were eventually enrolled. Uncle Sa'idu, however, managed to escape to Gwoggon's house in Kiarama. My father, Abubakar, completed his secondary education at King's College in Lagos, despite having declined a lucrative offer.

Family ties and alliances played a significant role in our lives. My mother, Halima, is the daughter of a Borno sheikh, and she was married to my father through a strategic alliance with the king's family. Their union was characterized by mutual understanding and love.

Last year, I visited Ummin Istanbul, where my mother gave birth, marking a joyous occasion for our family. Despite Abbuna's job relocation to Lagos, my parents continued to live in Ringim, finding happiness in each other's company. My maternal uncle, Kawu Sa'idu, married a Kano girl named Zinatu, and their lives unfolded with unique stories.

Family support extended to education, with Abbuna taking responsibility for the studies of all his brothers. My uncle, who didn't pursue formal education, received financial aid from Abbuna. Despite the challenges, he became the father of many children, emphasizing the strength of family bonds.

In Ringim, the king's family has distinctive names, such as Baba, Yaya, Hajiya Mino, Siyama, and Hafsa. I, being the oldest in my immediate family, share a unique connection with my siblings. Our family story intertwines with the rich tapestry of Ringim, making it a place where traditions, relationships, and love come together to create a home unlike any other.
