Joel Noble Obituary – Death: Joel Noble, 17, of Pittsfield Died in Fatal Car Accident

Two teenagers from Pittsfield were killed and four others injured in a two-car crash Saturday afternoon in Morgan County.

Illinois State Police say the accident happened around 2 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 67 and Woodson Winchester Road. Joel Noble, 17, and Jesse Davidsmeyer, 18—both students at Pikeland High School—were pronounced dead at the scene. Four others were hospitalized with injuries.

The crash temporarily shut down all lanes of traffic, which reopened by 8:07 p.m.

Pikeland CUSD #10 Superintendent Todd Fox called the tragedy “shocking” and said grief support will be made available to students, staff, and the community. A planned baccalaureate ceremony was canceled, and a prayer gathering was held instead on the school’s football field.

The crash remains under investigation by the Morgan County Coroner and Illinois State Police.
