Falmouth MA Car Accident: Fatal Rollover Crash in Falmouth Claims One Life

FALMOUTH — A single-vehicle rollover crash on Acapesket Road near East Falmouth Highway (Route 28) late Saturday night resulted in one fatality.

The incident occurred around 11 p.m. Emergency responders from the Falmouth Fire and Rescue Department extinguished a fire that had engulfed the Range Rover SUV involved in the crash and successfully extricated the driver. Due to adverse weather conditions, MedFlight air transport was unavailable, and the victim was transported by ambulance to Falmouth Hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.

Falmouth Police confirmed the driver was an 18-year-old senior at Falmouth High School. The department is actively investigating the cause of the crash.

In response to the tragedy, counseling services have been arranged for students and staff. On Sunday, May 18, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., counselors will be available at the Falmouth High School Library. Additional mental health support will be provided by local organizations, including Falmouth Police Department, Falmouth Human Services, and Sharing Kindness. Counseling sessions will continue at the school on Monday to assist the community in coping with this loss.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and have not released further details at this time.
