Diamond Fisk Death, Obituary: 23‑year‑old Diamond Fisk Shot Dead in West Akron Nightclub
AKRON, Ohio — In the early hours of Sunday, May 18, 2025, a fatal shooting occurred outside the Empire Lounge on Merriman Road in West Akron, resulting in the death of 23-year-old Diamond Fisk.
According to the Akron Police Department, officers were already present at the scene, assisting with crowd dispersal in the nightclub’s parking lot, when gunfire erupted around 2:16 a.m. in the adjacent McDonald’s parking lot. Responding immediately, officers discovered Fisk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General, where he was later pronounced dead.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and authorities have not released information regarding a suspect or motive. Lieutenant Michael Murphy of the Akron Police Department emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, “A young man lost his life to gun violence; a tragedy has left a family grieving.” He urged anyone with information to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
