Brad Rackers, a cherished theatre educator at Lee’s Summit West High School and a key leader in the Kansas City Cappies program, passed away unexpectedly after being found unresponsive at his home earlier today. Authorities confirmed that no foul play is suspected and noted that Brad had been experiencing health issues in recent days.

For many years, Rackers dedicated his life to theatre education, mentoring countless students and shaping the local high school theatre community. As Chair of the KC Cappies Steering Committee, he played an instrumental role in guiding young performers, writers, and critics, encouraging them to find their voices and develop their talents.
