The Estevan, Saskatchewan community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Amanda Minchin, a respected PGA of Canada professional, accomplished athlete and longtime leader within Saskatchewan golf whose reported passing has prompted an outpouring of grief from friends, colleagues, athletes and community members.

Amanda Minchin was widely recognized throughout the Canadian golf community for her dedication to the sport and her leadership at TS&M Woodlawn Golf Club in Estevan, where she served as both General Manager and Head Professional. A lifelong resident of Estevan, Minchin built a career rooted in passion for golf, mentorship and community involvement.

Known as a multi-sport athlete in her younger years, Amanda excelled in hockey, softball, soccer and basketball before eventually focusing on golf. Her talent led her to compete at high levels provincially and nationally, including collegiate golf at Eastern Illinois University, where she became a standout player and tournament winner.

After returning to Saskatchewan, Amanda devoted herself to growing the game of golf in Estevan and across the province. She became a PGA of Canada member and steadily earned recognition for her contributions to coaching and junior development. Throughout her career, she received multiple honors, including PGA of Saskatchewan Teacher of the Year and PGA of Canada Junior Leader of the Year.

Friends and colleagues remembered Amanda not only for her athletic accomplishments, but also for her warmth, humor and ability to inspire those around her. Tributes described her as someone who brought energy and positivity into every room, a loyal friend and mentor who genuinely cared about the people she worked with and supported.

Her influence extended well beyond competitive golf. Amanda was passionate about introducing young people to the game and helping junior athletes develop confidence, discipline and life skills through sports.
